Sending and Receiving Messages

Internet email users:

  •     Sending: Using your email software, type a message and address it to the remote traveler's Winlink email address. Then send it out via your email service provider. That's All.

  •     Receiving: Using your email software, logon to your email service provider, and collect any messages that may have been sent to you by the remote traveler. That's All.

Radio Winlink Users:

  •     Sending: Using your Airmail software, type a message and address it to another Winlink or Internet email address. Then sent it via your amateur radio to a Winlink radio station. That's All.
  •     Receiving: Using your Airmail software, log-on to a Winlink radio station and collect any mail sent to you by other Winlink or Internet users. That's All.

Licensing Requirements:

Radio Winlink Users, as well as Winlink Radio Station Operators, must be licensed amateur radio operators. More than 1,000 non-amateurs considered Winlink so valuable that they have found it worth-their-while to become licensed amateur radio operators.
