The ACA falls under the Communications, Information Technology and the Arts portfolio. Our Minister is Senator Richard Alston.

The Authority members are Mr Tony Shaw (Chair), Dr Bob Horton (Deputy Chair), Mr Allan Horsley (Member) and Professor David Round (part-time Member). Associate Member is Mr Michael Gordon-Smith. For the purposes of Schedule 3 to the Telecommunications Act 1997, the Minister for Communications, the Information Economy and the Arts has appointed six eligible Associate Members of the ACA.

The ACA represents Australia’s communications interests internationally through its membership of the International Telecommunication Union, the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity and other appropriate bodies.
